Stan Sakai was born in Kyoto, Japan, and raised in Hawaii. He currently lives in Southern California. His creation, Usagi Yojimbo the samurai rabbit, was first published in 1984, and has now almost reached 200 issues and numerous collected editions.

David Petersen was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. He started drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil, and throughout high school and college he worked with friends to create their own comic book characters and stories. While working on a portfolio of samples to send off for children’s book illustration, David’s Mouse Guard comic idea got some attention at a local convention.

In 2009 Rick signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics, and is currently the writer of the publisher's popular new Punisher series, as well as the forthcoming Doctor Voodoo and a Thunderbolts special. Last year Rick added his love of pulpy science fiction stories as a writer on the Electronic Arts game Dead Space.
